The green has departed Coppertop once again, cementing the fact that it’s been nearly 20 years since this amount of snow has fallen in Port Angeles, Washington. Heavy snow is beginning to fall into drifts and shows no sign of letting up.
I’m not the only one soaking up all the beauty. Today a snowy-headed bald eagle perches in a fir on the far edge of our land to shake off some of the powder. I love the way these eagles perch for long spells, taking in everything. This visitor has stayed past half an hour. My hope is that he will snatch up a few voles during his visit.
