We’ve enjoyed many months of the fragrant blooms, but it’s finally time to compost all the sweet pea vines. They’re being evicted so that their pots might grow gorgeous spring bulbs. I’ve grown my sweet peas from saved seed for two years, but next year I will begin anew, perhaps with a new color palette.

I was sorry to have to cut them down while they were still blooming, but their lower stems were looking sad and well past their prime. Before we know it, next year’s sweet peas will be climbing, Chloris!
