Recent rains have benefitted the row of hydrangeas at the base of Chicken Hill. Thanks to the addition of aluminum sulphate, some of the varieties bloomed bluer than last year.
One of my favorite pink varieties is ‘Pistachio’ below.
Up on Chicken Hill, the bed of geum, columbine, and the Rainier cherry tree, now blooms with a few red dahlias — a spot of bright color in the late summer landscape.
