As clematis season continues, two additional vines are currently in bloom. One (perhaps ‘Etoile Violette’) climbs a low fence and a nearby lilac tree. Its rich purple intertwines freely with adjacent deep pink climbing roses.
An unidentified lavender-pink clematis beauty climbs a wire arch in the perennial beds, blending with campanula, linaria, and fading delphiniums. I’ll harvest delphinium seed once the blooms dry completely.
