First Delphs & Peonies

There’s something pretty wonderful about walking into the perennial garden and seeing the first delphiniums opening. Gorgeous! Many more to come, thankfully.

Up closer to the house where their fragrance can be enjoyed, our early single peonies began blooming about a week ago. The second variety to pop open are these striking deepest pink called Bunker Hill. How appropriate that they would open for Memorial Day.

  1. Beautiful peony! I have one about the same color but it’s already long faded. So interesting how bloom times are different when we are in relative close proximity (oly here).
