It’s lilac time! It seems to be a great year for these fragrant beauties that add so much to our gardens. The heady perfume from a couple nearby large lilac bushes wafts up to the deck during our sunshiny days. Delightful!

Five younger lilac bushes edge Lupine Hill. I was delighted when the one that didn’t bloom last year came through with WHITE blossoms last week. My favorite.

I took these photos in early morning sunshine, so they’re a bit bleached out. The purple and pink tones in the other lilac bushes are beautiful as well. It seems that the purple flower stems have the strongest fragrance. I’ve brought bunches indoors to savor the perfume.
