Raspberries In October

I admired the viburnums and kicked my way through piles of huge orange leaves from the bigleaf maples, which cover the earth more thickly each day. In this change of seasons, the last thing I expect to enjoy are fresh raspberries. Yet the raspberry hedge is at it again — producing more gems for us atop tall green canes.

I harvest a generous handful each day  — just enough to share with Hubby and sprinkle on our breakfast.
