It’s always exciting to witness the first dahlia buds opening. Our firsts this year are two tubers of the early single ‘Bashful’ in a wine barrel and down in the dahlia raised beds. Also opening early are some unnamed tall, white and lavender blossoms from tubers we inherited (and divided) down in the dahlia beds. I snapped these photos a few days ago, and each morning I get excited to see the progress. The season has officially begun!
